
On 28 May 2025, Lamka – City of Hope participated in a Networking Meeting with Local Groups, Associations, and Organizations held at the Synod SBS Hall, IB Road, Lamka. Organized by the Centre for Development Initiatives (CDI) and sponsored by the Azim Premji Foundation, the meeting brought together representatives from various community-based organizations to foster collaboration, share experiences, and strengthen local partnerships for social transformation.
Lamka – City of Hope actively contributed to the discussions, highlighting the importance of collective action in rebuilding lives, promoting education, livelihood, and psychosocial well-being among displaced and vulnerable communities. The meeting provided a valuable platform to exchange ideas, identify areas of convergence, and explore future collaborations aimed at sustainable community development. This engagement reinforced Lamka – City of Hope’s commitment to working hand in hand with like-minded organizations to build a more inclusive, resilient, and hopeful society.
“Overcoming Life Challenges, Preventing Drug Abuse, Achieving session” and Legal Awareness Program at Molnom : 17 August 2025
A workshop was organized on August 17, 2025, at Molnom, jointly by the District Legal Services Authority (DLSA) and the Molnom Youth Club, under the theme “Overcoming Life Challenges, Preventing Drug Abuse, Achieving Success. ”The seminar aimed to educate and inspire young people and community members on the importance of resilience, legal awareness, and the prevention of substance abuse as key steps toward building a healthy and progressive society. Dr. Chinkholal Thangsing, Commander – Royal Order of Sahametrei and President, Lamka City of Hope, delivered a special presentation highlighting the moral, social, and emotional dimensions of overcoming life’s adversities. He emphasized the role of education, family support, and community engagement in steering youth away from drug dependency and toward constructive, purpose-driven living. The participation of Lamka City of Hope added depth to the discussions, sharing practical insights from its ongoing community rehabilitation and youth empowerment initiatives. The workshop concluded with an interactive session, reaffirming the collective commitment of local leaders and organizations to fostering a drug-free and hopeful Lamka.
