Established in 2001, the Hope Baptist Children Home has been a haven of love and care for children in need, currently nurturing and educating 50 young residents. The visit symbolized the spirit of compassion, solidarity, and shared humanity that defines Lamka City of Hope’s mission. It also highlighted the power of collaboration between individuals and institutions united by empathy and purpose. The organization extends heartfelt gratitude to India Cares and Arun Bothra, IPS, for their generosity and continued commitment to uplifting the vulnerable. The gesture not only brought joy and comfort to the children but also strengthened community bonds and reaffirmed the enduring message of hope and service at the heart of Lamka’s rebuilding journey.
In keeping with its mission to foster compassion and community solidarity, Lamka City of Hope successfully concluded a week-long Clothes Distribution Drive from 23 August to 2 September 2025, bringing warmth and joy to children in several homes and orphanages across Lamka. The initiative commenced with a visit to the Hope Baptist Children Home, where donated clothes—generously provided by India Cares—were distributed to the children. This meaningful gesture marked the beginning of a broader outreach program that extended to the Only Grace Children and Orphanage Home (run by the Zomi Mothers Association), the Salvation Army Babies Home, and the Sang Ga Muon In Orphanage in Bijang. Each of these institutions stands as a beacon of compassion, offering shelter, education, and care to some of the most vulnerable members of our community. The Lamka City of Hope team expresses its heartfelt appreciation to the management and staff of all participating homes for their unwavering dedication to nurturing children with love, dignity, and hope. This initiative was made possible through the continued collaboration and generosity of India Cares, whose contributions have once again strengthened the spirit of unity and service that defines the City of Hope. Lamka City of Hope conveys its deepest gratitude to India Cares and for their enduring humanitarian support to the people of Lamka.
Guided by its vision of building an inclusive City of Hope, Lamka City of Hope remains steadfast in its commitment to uplift the most vulnerable and to ensure that every child grows in an environment of care, dignity, and opportunity.
